Team Liquid Philippines triumphed over defending champion Selangor Red Giants OG Esports of Malaysia with a score of 4-1 to claim victory in the 2025 MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) at the Esports World Cup, held on Saturday (Manila time) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This victory marks the Philippines’ first MSC title since RSG Philippines won it in 2022, effectively ending a three-year title drought for the country.
Although Selangor Red Giants secured the first game of the best-of-seven series, the Filipino squad quickly regrouped and dominated the next four games to seize the prestigious crown, along with the lion’s share of the prize pool amounting to $1,000,000, or roughly ₱58 million.
Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya was named Finals MVP for his outstanding performance, while Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno completed his MLBB trophy collection with this MSC victory. In the battle for bronze, Onic Philippines defeated their Indonesian counterparts to secure third place in the tournament.
