A teacher in Tondo, Manila allegedly assaulted and forced his student to eat a cockroach after the student caught the teacher sexually molesting a female student inside the school.
The incident occurred last Oct. 15 when the 12-year-old victim caught the suspect, a 53-year-old teacher, sexually assaulting another student inside the school’s comfort room.
The victim said she tried to escape from the teacher, but she was quickly caught by the suspect and was later brought inside the comfort room.
The suspect allegedly hurt the victim and forced her to eat a cockroach before threatening her further if she speaks about the incident.
Despite the threat, the child reported the incident to her parents and authorities, prompting police to conduct surveillance and follow-up operations against the teacher.
The teacher was apprehended on December 12 within the school campus through a warrant of arrest for violation of the Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
The suspect denied the allegations, stating that the incident never happened.
Authorities added that the child who was allegedly molested has yet to file a complaint against the teacher.
