CEBU, Philippines — For many Overseas Filipino Workers, coming home for the holidays is more than just a trip back—it is a long-awaited reunion after months or even years of sacrifice spent far from family and loved ones.

To mark that emotional homecoming, Tanduay greeted returning OFWs with a warm holiday surprise at Mactan-Cebu International Airport on December 29, handing out bottles of Tanduay Select as they arrived in Terminal 2.

As OFWs stepped into the arrival area, Tanduay representatives personally welcomed them and presented each with a 700-mL bottle of Tanduay Select along with a complimentary rocks glass, turning a routine arrival into a moment of celebration.

“At Tanduay, we recognize the hard work and sacrifices of our OFWs,” said Roy Kristoffer Sumang, Tanduay International Business Development Manager. “We hope this gift reminds them of the love and warmth of home as they celebrate the holidays with their families.”

Known for its deep roots in Filipino heritage and craftsmanship, Tanduay Select was chosen as a tribute to the country’s modern-day heroes. The spirit is crafted from a distinctive blend of cane spirits sourced from select sugarcane and carries a 30 percent alcohol by volume, reflecting the brand’s long tradition of quality.

For many OFWs, the gesture added an extra layer of joy to an already emotional return. Jerika Lorraine Demillo, who flew in from Japan, said the surprise brought back memories of home. “Tagal ko nang hindi nakakainom,” she shared. “Thank you po sa Tropang Tanduay for this very wonderful surprise.”

Ludovico Amodal, arriving from Qatar, echoed the sentiment, saying the gift would make their celebrations even more meaningful. “Magiging masaya ang New Year natin,” he said.

Another returning worker, Hazel Tusoy, who has spent the past two years working in Hong Kong, described the moment as especially touching. “Super miss ko na ang aking pamilya,” she said, adding that her family did not even know she was coming home yet.

Sumang said the initiative reflects Tanduay’s commitment to honoring Filipinos wherever they may be. “We raise our glass to all hardworking Filipinos around the world. As a brand that values family and dedication, we are proud to celebrate your efforts, especially during this joyful season.”
