Tanduay captured the spotlight at Whisky Live Manila 2025 with a bold showcase of its soon-to-be-released Reserve Rums, creative cocktail collaborations, and interactive experiences that drew in whisky lovers and rum enthusiasts alike at Shangri-La The Fort in Bonifacio Global City.
“We wanted to elevate the experience this year by introducing our upcoming Reserve Rums,” said Roy Kristoffer Sumang, International Business Development Manager of Tanduay. “Guests who tried them were impressed by the depth, flavor, and craftsmanship that reflect the Filipino spirit of excellence.”
The new Reserve Rum Series, which includes the Tanduay Reserve Rum 10 Years and the Tanduay Reserve Rum Overproof, continues the brand’s legacy of using high-quality local sugarcane and aging in barrels that once held bourbon whisky—infusing each bottle with rich, smoky notes and smooth complexity.
Whisky Live Manila, the country’s premier whisky event, has long been a platform for brands to engage with spirits connoisseurs. “This event gives us a chance to spark curiosity and excitement for Tanduay among whisky drinkers,” Sumang added. “Rum shares a kinship with whisky, and we wanted to showcase that connection.”
The two-day affair also featured cocktail collaborations with leading mixologists. On Day 1, Alvaro Basilides of Booze and Brews served up inventive Tanduay cocktails including Suman Atbp, Evergreen, and Smokehouse. On Day 2, bar consultant Joe Mari “Bhaj” Santos from Salty for Coconut impressed the crowd with Barrio Fizzta, Golden Pine, and Rum Fashioned, each highlighting the rum’s adaptability and character.
Adding a playful twist, Tanduay’s booth offered gashapon prizes and a heat-press customization station where guests could personalize their winnings with names and branded designs.
Sumang noted a growing trend of “experiential drinking” among attendees: “People now crave discovery—new flavors, new ways to enjoy their drink, and an atmosphere that connects them to the craft. Even the ‘sober curious’ joined in, drawn by the culture and camaraderie of the event.”
