Student hospitalized after fall at De La Salle University Manila campus

Facade of De La Salle University, featuring classical architecture with columns and pediments, set against a clear blue sky.

A student from De La Salle University was brought to the hospital Friday after falling from one of the buildings inside its Manila campus, prompting school officials to appeal for restraint amid online speculation.

In a statement, De La Salle University confirmed that an incident occurred involving a student who fell approximately one floor within the campus premises. The university did not disclose the student’s identity, citing privacy considerations.

According to campus publication The Lasallian, the student reportedly fell from the third floor of St. La Salle Hall and landed on the green roof of a covered walkway near the Brothers’ Memorial Garden — a central area frequently traversed by students between classes.

University personnel responded immediately. The student was given on-site medical attention before being transported to a nearby hospital for further assessment. No additional details regarding the student’s condition were released as of posting time.

In its advisory, the university urged the public and members of the Lasallian community to refrain from circulating unverified claims or conjecture about the circumstances surrounding the fall.

“Out of respect for the student’s well-being and the family’s privacy during this sensitive time, we ask for everyone’s cooperation in maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment,” the statement read.

Campus administrators are expected to review safety protocols in the affected area as part of standard procedure following such incidents. Further updates will depend on official medical and investigative findings.
