Get ready to discover the ultimate Pacific paradise! The Guam Tourism Bureau is joining once again at this year’s Travel Sale Expo, happening on September 26-28 at the Megatrade Hall in SM Megamall. Organized by Oneklik Events and the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA), the event will feature top and emerging destinations that tourists can explore – and Guam is one of them!
According to Michelle Taylan, GTBA Founding Chairman and TSE Chairperson, Guam is a hidden gem waiting to be explored by more Filipino travelers. “While Filipinos are among Guam’s top visitors, we’re aiming to increase the numbers, especially since we haven’t yet hit pre-pandemic figures,” Taylan said. As of 2024, nearly 9,000 Filipinos visited Guam, which is about 60% of pre-COVID figures.
Guam’s unique blend of Chamorro culture, stunning beaches, and US-style amenities makes it an attractive destination for travelers. Top arrivals are from Japan and Korea, both of which are beneficiaries of Guam’s visa-free program. Taylan added, “We’re pushing for the Philippines’ inclusion in the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program, which would make it even easier for Filipinos to visit Guam and experience its beauty firsthand.”
The Guam Visitors Bureau(GVB) will join over 200 booths participated by the airlines, hotels, tours, and cruise sectors at this year’s 3rd Travel Sale Expo, themed “Your Gateway To The World”. Visitors can expect to score unbeatable deals, big discounts on Guam tour packages, stay updated on travel requirements, and explore emerging destinations. TSE and GVB partnership was formalized through a contract signing by TSE Chairperson Michelle Taylan and GVB Philippines Sales Manager Mr. Philip Gejon together with GVB Account Manager Ginina Torreliza and Account Director Ms. Cheska Dizon.
