SM Investments Corporation (SM Investments), the parent firm of the SM Group, has once again been honored with the coveted 5 Golden Arrow Award from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), marking its second consecutive year of receiving the highest distinction for exemplary corporate governance.
The ICD’s 2025 Golden Arrow Awards recognized the country’s top publicly listed companies (PLCs) that demonstrated outstanding performance based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SM Prime) also received the 5 Golden Arrow distinction, while other SM Group affiliates—BDO Unibank, Inc., China Banking Corporation, Belle Corporation, Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation, APC Group, Inc., and Pacific Online Systems Corporation—were among the recognized firms.
“Receiving this recognition for the second consecutive year reflects the unwavering commitment of our Board, management, and employees across the SM Group,” said SM Investments Chairman Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. “It reinforces our collective effort to sustain a culture rooted in integrity, accountability, and responsible stewardship.”
Tetangco added, “In an era where transparency and trust define leadership, we continue to strengthen our governance framework across all levels of the organization. This award affirms our resolve to uphold ethical leadership and open communication in serving our stakeholders.”
The ACGS framework assesses companies on five key pillars: shareholder rights and equitable treatment, stakeholder relations, transparency and disclosure, sustainability and resilience, and board responsibility. The evaluation relies solely on publicly available information, underscoring the importance of openness and ethical conduct in business.
SM Investments’ continued top-tier performance demonstrates its enduring commitment to good governance as the cornerstone of sustainable growth and long-term stakeholder value.
