Six Casinos cut ties with junket operators linked to Anson Que kidnapping

Six major casinos have terminated operations with two junket operators allegedly involved in the kidnapping and ransom case of businessman Anson Que, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In a press briefing at Camp Olivas, Pampanga, PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said the casinos cut ties with 9 Dynasty Group and White Horse Club over possible legal violations.

The PNP earlier accused the junket operators of facilitating a money laundering scheme connected to the PHP200 million ransom paid for Que’s release.

The Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) has since launched an investigation into the transaction, revealing that the ransom was initially paid in Philippine pesos and US dollars before being converted into cryptocurrency.

Que, also known as Anson Tan, and his driver, Armanie Pabillo, went missing on March 29 after leaving Que’s office in Valenzuela City. A ransom demand of USD20 million was sent to the family the following day via a messaging app.

Their bodies were discovered on April 9 by a roadside in Rodriguez, Rizal.
