Signify Foundation, the global non-profit arm of lighting leader Signify, has joined hands with Security Bank Foundation, Inc. (SBFI) to illuminate classrooms and inspire learning across the Philippines. Under the partnership, Signify Foundation will provide sustainable LED lighting for at least 50 new public school classrooms that SBFI will construct in 2026, with implementation support from Signify Philippines.
The partnership was formalized on October 22, 2025, at the Security Bank Centre in Makati City, marking a shared commitment to promote education, sustainability, and community empowerment through light.
For Signify Foundation, light is more than just illumination—it is a driver of safety, education, and opportunity. “Light has the power to uplift lives—it brings safety, hope, and opportunity,” said Yue Cui, Director of the Signify Foundation. “Through this partnership, we are not only brightening classrooms, but also lighting up the dreams of Filipino children who deserve every chance to learn and thrive.”
Beyond enhancing visibility, good lighting improves focus, reduces eye strain, and helps students perform better. Energy-efficient LED technology also cuts power costs, allowing schools to channel savings into teaching resources and student development.
“At Signify, we believe in the power of light to create meaningful change,” added Raghuraman Chandrasekhar, Commercial Leader for Professional Signify Philippines. “By lighting up classrooms, we help students see, learn, and create under better, more sustainable light.”
Security Bank Foundation, meanwhile, continues to champion educational development through its Build a School, Build a Nation program—constructing classrooms, training teachers, and supporting scholars across the country.
“Security Bank Foundation builds the classrooms, but our partners like Signify help us fulfill our mission,” said SBFI Chairman Rafael F. Simpao Jr. “The donation of light bulbs is a powerful reminder that improving education is a shared responsibility—every resource counts in creating a better environment for learning.”
Together, the Signify Foundation and Security Bank Foundation are illuminating the path toward a brighter, smarter, and more sustainable Philippines—proving that when purpose-driven institutions unite, they can light the way for generations to come.
