Shear line to bring rains over Metro Manila, parts of Luzon

The shear line will bring scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms across Metro Manila and several areas in Luzon on Thursday, October 29, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its latest weather forecast, PAGASA said the shear line will affect Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Aurora, Bulacan, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur.

The weather bureau warned that moderate to heavy rainfall could trigger flash floods and landslides, particularly in flood-prone and mountainous areas.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region and Nueva Ecija.

The Ilocos Region and the remaining areas of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Other parts of the country may experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized weather disturbances.

PAGASA also forecast moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.

Elsewhere, light to moderate winds will prevail, accompanied by slight to moderate sea conditions.

The state weather bureau advised residents in areas experiencing heavy rainfall to remain alert for possible flooding and landslides.

PAGASA also reported that no low-pressure area is currently being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.
