The state weather bureau has warned of potential flash floods and landslides on Saturday as a shear line continues to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across the Visayas and parts of Luzon and Mindanao.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the shear line is affecting the Visayas, Romblon, and several provinces in the Bicol Region, including Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.
The same weather system is expected to bring cloudy skies and moderate to heavy rains over the Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Camiguin, and Misamis Oriental.
Residents in these areas are advised to remain alert for possible rain-induced hazards.
In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, the northeast monsoon (amihan) will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
The rest of Mindanao will experience localized thunderstorms, resulting in partly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers.
PAGASA also issued a maritime advisory, noting moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, the Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao.
The rest of the country can expect light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions.
