The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) confirmed her withdrawal midweek, noting that the 19-year-old, who trained at the prestigious Rafa Nadal Academy, would not be joining the draw at the WTA 1000 event. While specifics of the injury remain undisclosed, the decision signals Eala’s commitment to long-term health over short-term competition.
Replacing her in the main draw is Mexican tennis pro Renata Zarazua.
Eala’s latest appearance was at the Omnium Banque Nationale in Montreal, where she gave a spirited performance against 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova. Eala stunned the crowd by taking the first set, 6-3, before the Czech star clawed back to win the next two sets, 6-1, 6-2.
