Senior citizen behind bars served arrest warrant for alleged rape of 20-year-old woman

A senior citizen already in custody at the New Quezon City Jail Dormitory was served an arrest warrant on March 24 for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman.

According to Police Lt. Col. Angelito de Juan, commander of the Project 4 Police Station, the first incident took place on August 22, 2023, in Quezon City. The victim had been staying at her aunt’s house at the time — the aunt being married to the suspect’s brother.

“She was asleep when she suddenly felt someone on top of her,” De Juan said. “That’s when it all started — the suspect assaulted her. He threatened her by acting as if he was going to pull out a weapon from his waist and told her, ‘Don’t make a sound, don’t tell anyone.’”

The abuse reportedly happened again in September 2023, prompting the victim to return home to Pangasinan out of fear.

“The assault resulted in her pregnancy,” De Juan added. “That’s when her parents found out and asked who the father was. It was then that the victim finally opened up.”

The victim’s family reported the crime to authorities. The suspect was tracked down and arrested in December 2024 in Atimonan, Rizal, initially on charges of acts of lasciviousness. The case was later elevated to include charges of rape.

The police reiterated their commitment to helping abuse victims seek justice and encouraged others to come forward.
