The Senate committee on women said it could not locate the parents of one of the two minors accused in the June 22 shooting at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros, who chairs the panel, made the disclosure during the committee hearing on the incident.
The shooting left three students dead and several others wounded.
The suspects were identified only by their aliases, Rod, 15, and Nash, 14.
Hontiveros said the committee tried to invite the parents of Rod but was unable to find them.
She said she wanted the matter placed on record during the hearing.
Nash’s aunt, PSSg. Arla Ray Pacencia, attended the hearing. Her registered firearm was allegedly used in the shooting.
Relatives of some of the victims were also present, including the parents of Chris Lorenz Fabian and Yancee Separa, two of the students killed in the attack.
