The Senate finalized on Monday the composition of its committee on ethics and privileges, completing the roster that will oversee complaints and disciplinary matters involving members of the chamber.
During the plenary session, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri moved for the inclusion of Senators Joel Villanueva, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, and Christopher “Bong” Go as members of the panel representing the minority bloc.
With no objections raised on the floor, Senate President Vicente Sotto III approved the motion, formally closing the list of committee members.
Earlier in the day, Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, who chairs the ethics and privileges committee, separately confirmed the full lineup in a message to reporters.
The panel will be led by Ejercito, with Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan serving as vice chairperson, alongside Senators Risa Hontiveros and Erwin Tulfo.
Villanueva, Go, and Dela Rosa round out the regular members of the committee, according to the list released by Ejercito.
The committee also includes ex-officio members composed of Senate leadership, Majority Leader Zubiri, Senate President Pro Tempore Panfilo Lacson, and Senate President Sotto, tasked with ensuring that the chamber’s standards of conduct, integrity, and accountability are upheld.
