Nearly 299,000 travelers passed through seaports nationwide on the final day of 2025, according to the Philippine Coast Guard.
PCG data showed that 298,871 passengers were monitored on Dec. 31, with outbound travelers slightly outnumbering inbound arrivals.
The agency recorded 150,203 outbound passengers and 148,668 inbound passengers on New Year’s Eve.
Passenger volume on the last day of the year was lower compared with figures logged in the days immediately preceding it.
The highest number of seaport passengers during the holiday period was recorded on Dec. 29, when more than 461,000 travelers were monitored nationwide.
Traffic remained heavy on Dec. 30, with over 458,000 passengers recorded, based on Coast Guard records.
Daily counts from Dec. 26 to Dec. 28 also exceeded 390,000 passengers, reflecting sustained holiday travel ahead of New Year’s celebrations.
In preparation for increased movement, the PCG inspected more than 1,400 vessels operating across major routes.
Authorities also checked over 1,600 motorbancas in various ports to ensure compliance with safety standards.
The Coast Guard said it remains on heightened alert until Jan. 4, 2026, as post-holiday travel continues.
