ISTANBUL – A Saudi citizen sustained minor injuries after debris from two intercepted Houthi ballistic missiles fell in Riyadh on Thursday, October 29, damaging a residential property and a vehicle, according to Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense.

In a statement, the agency said emergency teams responded to the incident after Saudi defense systems intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Houthi group toward the capital.

The falling debris caused minor injuries to one resident and material damage to a house and a vehicle.

A Civil Defense spokesperson said authorities immediately implemented established emergency response procedures to secure the affected area and address the damage.

The incident came amid escalating hostilities between Yemen’s government forces and the Houthis, as the Saudi-led coalition intensified military operations against the group.

Earlier Thursday, the Houthis claimed responsibility for six attacks targeting strategic facilities across Saudi Arabia, including major oil installations and international airports.

Among the reported targets were the Ras Tanura and Rabigh oil refineries, Saudi Aramco facilities in Abqaiq, King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

The Houthi group claimed its attacks successfully struck their intended targets and disrupted flight operations at Dammam airport.

It also alleged that a separate strike on a military command facility in Najran resulted in casualties among Saudi forces.

The claims regarding damage, airport disruptions, and military casualties could not be independently verified.

The latest attacks occurred amid Operation Dawn of Yemen, a broader military offensive launched by government-aligned forces aimed at driving Houthi fighters from positions along several fronts.

The renewed fighting has heightened security concerns in Saudi Arabia as missile attacks and military operations continue to intensify across the region.
