Road closures in Manila for ‘Baha sa Luneta 2.0’ protest on Sunday

Motorists traveling in Manila City this Sunday, November 30, are advised to prepare for significant delays as the local government implements a comprehensive traffic rerouting plan and road closures in anticipation of a major anti-corruption protest.

The “Baha sa Luneta 2.0” protest, organized by the Kilusang Bayan Kontra Kurakot (KBKK), is set to converge at Luneta Park, prompting authorities to close several major arteries beginning in the morning.

The protest program is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. until the afternoon.

The Manila Public Information Office (PIO) has warned the public to avoid the affected areas and use designated alternative routes. Among the major thoroughfares that will be closed are:

• Both lanes of Bonifacio Drive (from Anda Circle to P. Burgos Ave.).

• The northbound and southbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard (between Quirino Ave. and P. Burgos Ave.).

• Kalaw Avenue and P. Burgos Avenue (stretches near Roxas Blvd. and Taft Ave.).

• Ayala Bridge will also be closed to traffic.

A critical rerouting scheme has been implemented to manage the traffic flow:

• Vehicles coming from the Jones, MacArthur, and Quezon Bridges must use Taft Avenue to their destination.

• Heavy vehicles and trailer trucks from Pasay City heading northbound on Roxas Boulevard are directed to turn right onto President Quirino Avenue.

The Manila PIO urges all affected drivers to consult the full traffic advisory and plan alternative routes well in advance to mitigate travel disruptions.
