Pop star Dua Lipa just dropped some major personal news—she’s getting married!
In an interview with British Vogue, the Grammy-winning artist confirmed that she is engaged to British actor Callum Turner, putting an end to months of speculation that began when she flashed a chunky diamond ring over the holidays.
The global pop star dropped the news in her cover interview, saying, “Yeah, we’re engaged,” and describing the moment as “very exciting” and “really special.” The couple, who began dating in January 2024, have kept their relationship low-key, but the ring finally gave it away.
The pair first crossed paths at The River Cafe in London. They were introduced by Ruth Rogers, the restaurant’s co-founder. At the time, Turner was just “that really hot guy” from the restaurant, according to Lipa.
A year later, they bumped into each other again in Los Angeles, and something clicked from there. The turning point? They realized they were reading the same book, Trust by Hernan Diaz.
Turner had the engagement ring custom-made specifically for Dua, with the help of her sister, Rina, and close friends. “I’m obsessed with it; it’s so me. It’s nice to know the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well,” she said.
However, don’t expect a wedding date anytime soon, given Turner’s film commitments and Lipa’s Radical Optimism world tour, which is currently running through the end of the year. The couple is taking things slow.
“I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding,” she shared. “But now I’m like, ‘Oh, what would I wear?”
