A red rainfall warning remained in effect over parts of Zambales and Tarlac on Sunday afternoon as the southwest monsoon continued to bring heavy rain, according to Pagasa.
In its 2 p.m. advisory, the weather bureau placed Santa Cruz, Candelaria and Masinloc in Zambales, as well as San Clemente, Camiling and Mayantoc in Tarlac, under the highest rainfall warning level.
Pagasa warned that severe flooding and landslides were possible in areas under the red warning, particularly in low-lying communities and places near slopes and waterways.
An orange rainfall warning was also raised over Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Rizal and Cavite, along with several areas in Zambales, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Quezon and Batangas.
Areas under the orange warning may experience flooding in several locations, while communities vulnerable to landslides were advised to remain alert.
A yellow rainfall warning covered other parts of Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon, where localized flooding could occur in low-lying areas and near river channels.
Pagasa also forecast light to moderate rain with occasional heavy downpours over parts of Nueva Ecija and Quezon within the next three hours.
The weather bureau advised residents in affected areas to continue monitoring rainfall warnings and follow instructions from local authorities as the Habagat remains active.
