Rainy weather to persist due to multiple weather systems

Several areas in the country will continue to experience rainfall on Saturday, influenced by three different weather systems, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA reported that the shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms over mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will cause cloudy conditions with scattered rains and thunderstorms in Caraga and Palawan.

The northeast monsoon, or “amihan,” will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and the Babuyan Islands. PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Additionally, the northeast monsoon will result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains across the rest of Cagayan Valley, as well as the Ilocos and Cordillera regions.

Metro Manila and other parts of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the influence of the easterlies.

Wind and sea conditions will also vary, with moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas expected over Northern and Central Luzon. The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.

Meanwhile, PAGASA issued a warning for Dagupan City, where the heat index is expected to reach a “dangerous” level of 42°C until Sunday.
