Rains to prevail across Phl on Tuesday

Most areas in the country will get rains on Tuesday due to two prevailing weather systems.

The easterlies will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms across the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its bulletin issued at 4:00 a.m.

Flash floods and landslides are possible due to moderate to heavy rains, it said.

Meanwhile, light rains caused by the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will be experienced in Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

Isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon will prevail across Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

PAGASA forecast the rest of Mindanao to experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies.

Severe thunderstorms could also result in flash floods or landslides, PAGASA said.

Strong to gale winds and rough to very rough seas will continue to prevail across Northern Luzon.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are expected in the Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and the northern and eastern sections of Mindanao.

The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.

As of 2:00 a.m., no low-pressure area was monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, PAGASA said. (PNA)
