Radisson Blu Cebu, the premier business hotel under the partnership of Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) and SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC), officially marked its 15th anniversary this month, signaling a decade and a half of dominance in the region’s business and tourism sectors.
Under the theme “Shining Through,” the hotel celebrated its “crystal” milestone by reaffirming its role as a cornerstone of Cebu’s hospitality industry.
Since its opening, the property has established itself as a leading venue for the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) market, a critical driver of the local economy.
Strategic Partnership and Expansion
The hotel is a flagship result of the collaboration between RHG and SMHCC, a subsidiary of SM Prime Holdings.
Ramzy Fenianos, RHG’s Chief Development Officer for Asia-Pacific (APAC), noted that the 15-year tenure of the Cebu property underscores the brand’s long-term commitment to the Philippines.
Radisson’s footprint in the country has since grown to 18 establishments.
Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SMHCC, highlighted that the Radisson Blu brand has successfully transitioned from a recognized name in Europe and the Middle East to a household brand in the APAC region, often growing alongside SM Prime’s various commercial developments.
Operations and Social Responsibility
General Manager Ann Olalo, a Cebuana executive leading the property, emphasized that the hotel’s future strategy focuses on “responsible business.”
Beyond its commercial performance, the hotel has integrated social governance into its operations, including local training programs for women in vulnerable sectors.
As the tourism industry continues its post-pandemic trajectory, Radisson Blu Cebu remains positioned as a high-performing asset within the SMHCC portfolio, capitalizing on its proximity to Cebu’s shipping and commercial hubs to maintain its competitive edge in the luxury business segment.
