The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported on Monday that a seven-day anti-criminality drive conducted across the city resulted in the arrest of 234 individuals.
Police said the operations, carried out from February 1 to 7, focused on illegal drugs, wanted persons, unlicensed firearms, and unlawful gambling activities in various parts of Quezon City.
According to the QCPD, anti-drug operations led to the arrest of 76 suspects and the seizure of illegal substances valued at more than P600,000.
Authorities also arrested 86 individuals with outstanding warrants, including dozens listed as most wanted persons, following intensified manhunt operations.
Separate police actions targeting loose firearms resulted in five arrests and the recovery of several unlicensed weapons, the district said.
Meanwhile, anti-gambling operations accounted for the arrest of 67 individuals and the confiscation of betting money during raids in different barangays.
Police said charges have been filed against the suspects before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, adding that the weeklong campaign forms part of continuing efforts to curb crime and strengthen public safety in the city.
