Starting June 19, the Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) is resuming its free online Japanese language classes.

The beginner-friendly classes will cover Japanese basics, including grammar, vocabulary, greetings and writing systems Katakana and Hiragana.

Classes will be conducted by experienced instructors and trained volunteers from Jellyfish Education Philippines Inc., QCPL’s partner since its inception in 2019.

“The QCPL’s Free Online Language Class opens doors of opportunity for every QCitizen—reminding us that in Quezon City, learning knows no limits, and progress begins with knowledge,” QC Mayor Joy Belmonte said in a statement.

Registration is free, but limited to 500 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

To secure a spot, interested participants must register via QCPL’s Facebook page and confirm attendance via email within 24 hours. Otherwise, the slot will be given to those on the waitlist.

QCPL’s free Japanese class series will consist of five additional sessions, in addition to the two-hour class on June 19, as per the library’s website.
