The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) is bringing its action-packed tour to regional fans, starting Sunday in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.

The opening matches will feature Akari going head-to-head with Cignal at 4 p.m., followed by Creamline taking on Capital1 at 6:30 p.m. On Monday, the teams will switch opponents for another set of high-energy matches.

The tour then heads to Batangas City on June 28, where Choco Mucho faces Galeries Tower in the first match, and Nxled battles Petro Gazz in the second game. The following day will feature Petro Gazz taking on Galeries Tower and Choco Mucho clashing with Nxled.

PVL president Ricky Palou said the tour plays a vital role in both expanding the league’s reach and preparing the national team for international tournaments, including the Southeast Asian Games scheduled in Thailand this December.

“This tour is about connecting with our regional fans and helping the national team gear up for bigger battles. It is also a stage for clubs to evaluate their new recruits and recalibrate strategies before the main season,” Palou said in a press release issued Tuesday.

Additional legs of the PVL Tour will take place in Ilagan City, Isabela and Passi City, Iloilo.

Twelve teams are competing in the preseason tour, divided into two groups. Pool A includes Petro Gazz, Choco Mucho, PLDT, Galeries Tower, Farm Fresh, and Nxled. Pool B features Creamline, Chery Tiggo, Cignal, Akari, ZUS Coffee, and Capital1.

From June 22 to July 29, the teams will compete in a single round-robin format. The top two teams in each pool will earn automatic spots in the quarterfinals, while those ranked third to sixth will go through a knockout play-in round. The winners from that stage will join the top seeds in a single-elimination quarterfinal.

Both the semifinals and the medal matches will also follow a do-or-die format, building up to an intense final that will determine the PVL on Tour champion. The top finishers will also secure spots in the PVL Invitational happening from August 19 to 29, where they will face off against two guest international squads.

As the tour moves across different cities, fans can expect high-level volleyball and a preview of what’s to come in the upcoming season.
