Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of the Philippine economy—accounting for 99.5% of registered businesses and employing over 60% of the workforce, according to the Department of Trade and Industry. Among them, more than 1.3 million sari-sari stores play a vital role in everyday commerce, connecting fast-moving consumer goods to communities across the country.

Recognizing their economic significance, Puregold Price Club Inc., a leading multi-format retailer, continues to champion the growth of MSMEs. As part of this commitment, Puregold will host the 2025 Tindahan ni Aling Puring (TNAP) Sari-Sari Store Convention from May 15 to 17 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Now one of the country’s largest business gatherings, the convention supports nearly one million Aling Puring cardholders.

This year’s theme, “Piliin si Aling Puring, Kayang-Kaya Umansenso,” highlights Puregold’s mission to empower micro-entrepreneurs and help them thrive in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing retail landscape.

“Our MSMEs—especially sari-sari store owners—are more than just customers. They’re key partners in driving economic progress,” said Puregold President Vincent Co. “Through the Tindahan Ni Aling Puring program, we provide them with the tools and opportunities to grow their businesses and uplift their communities.”

In 2024, Puregold held over 250 Ka-Asenso Salo-Salo events across the country, expanding TNAP’s reach in key regions such as North Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. These grassroots efforts not only deepened customer engagement but also strengthened brand loyalty and boosted growth in emerging markets.

To support profitability for MSMEs, Puregold continues to offer value-driven programs like Mas Pinababang Presyo Araw-araw and Panalo sa Branded, which provide access to quality branded goods at competitive prices—enabling sari-sari stores to improve margins and retain customers.

Beyond pricing strategies, Puregold is also helping store owners embrace technology. Tools like the Puregold Mobile App and P-Wallet simplify ordering, payment, and inventory management—making business operations more efficient and giving owners better control.

This focus on empowering MSMEs aligns with national goals for inclusive growth, job creation, and digital transformation. By investing in small retailers, Puregold supports economic resilience and opportunity—especially in underserved communities.

“We want our Ka-Asensos to grow with us,” Co added. “We’re building more stores, but we’re also building entrepreneurs. Our goal is to help Filipinos turn small wins into long-term success.”

With more than 500 stores nationwide and a growing digital platform, Puregold is evolving into more than a retail chain. It’s becoming a nationwide engine for inclusive development—partnering with entrepreneurs and communities to build a stronger economic future.
