PSA registers over 2.2 Million Iloilo residents under PhilSys

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has registered 2,240,752 residents of Iloilo under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) as of June 26, according to a report from the Iloilo Provincial Statistical Office (IPSO) on Thursday.

In an interview, IPSO officer-in-charge Jerry Dolutan stated that this figure represents approximately 90 percent of the 2.5 million residents based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing.

“We still have more than 250,000 individuals whom we target to register,” he noted.

Dolutan explained that the remaining individuals consist of those who have yet to decide to register, as well as those in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs), bedridden individuals, and overseas Filipino workers.

He emphasized the significance of the national ID, stating, “It is our gateway to avail of different services.” The national ID not only provides a secure and efficient method for verifying identities but also enables faster and more reliable access to services across both government and private sectors.

Registration continues at the PSA Iloilo Provincial Office located on Iznart Street, from Monday to Saturday, and at SM City Iloilo for walk-in clients.

For the third quarter of 2025, the PSA plans to deploy two mobile teams to cater to registration requests from local government units through their civil registrars.
