MANILA – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday paid tribute to Filipino educators as the country marked National Teachers’ Day, recognizing their sacrifices and their role in shaping the nation’s future.

In his message, Marcos said classrooms represent the promise of the country’s future, with teachers guiding young Filipinos as they learn, discover their abilities and pursue their aspirations.

“Every classroom carries within it the promise of our country’s future,” Marcos said, adding that educators are at the center of efforts to help learners realize their potential and reach greater possibilities in life.

The President said the influence of teachers extends beyond academic lessons, as their work also helps shape the kind of society the country can build.

Marcos likewise acknowledged the sacrifices that come with the profession and called for continued efforts to support educators and create an environment where they can teach effectively and learners can pursue knowledge with confidence.

He urged teachers to continue forming Filipinos who are “discerning in thought, principled in action, and mindful of the common good.”

Marcos also assured educators that the government would continue supporting them as schools respond to the changing demands of education and prepare students for future challenges.

“Rest assured, this government stands with our educators and nurtures a Bagong Pilipinas where every teacher is given the power to become a source of hope and strength for our children and nation,” he said.

The President ended his message by thanking teachers and saying that the lives they touch should remain their greatest legacy to the Filipino people.
