Police arrested a suspected drug trafficker and seized over P145,000 worth of illegal substances during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday night in Lucena City.

Authorities said they apprehended the suspect, identified only as “Co,” after he sold crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as shabu, to an undercover officer in Barangay Carsadang Bago 1 around 8:45 p.m. on December 18.

Confiscated from Co were five sachets of shabu, with an estimated street value of P102,000, and another sachet containing high-grade marijuana, also known as “kush,” worth approximately P43,500. Police also found a toy gun and magazine in his possession.

Co, who has been identified as a high-value individual (HVI) in the local drug trade, is linked to the trafficking of large quantities of illegal drugs. HVIs include major players such as drug financiers, manufacturers, and group leaders.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the source of the drugs and expanding their efforts to disrupt the local drug network.

Co remains in custody and faces multiple criminal charges.
