Police arrested three men in the kidnapping and killing of a former municipal vice mayor and his adult son in Leyte.
The victims were allegedly abducted from a warehouse office in Mayorga, Leyte, on June 27.
Their bodies were found on June 30 along a roadside in Barangay Imelda, Silago, Southern Leyte.
Investigators pursued the case through CCTV backtracking, intelligence gathering, and coordination with police units across the region.
The operations led to the arrest of three suspects identified only by the aliases “Kim,” “Reniel,” and “Mark.”
Police said the suspects, all from Basey, Samar, were placed under custody and would face criminal complaints.
Investigators were looking into a possible business dispute as one of the motives, while checking if other individuals were involved.
PNP chief Gen. Jose Nartatez said police would continue working with prosecutors to build a solid case and ensure that those responsible are held accountable through due process.
