The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced Friday a major, nationwide crackdown targeting the illegal sale of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices in anticipation of the 2025 holiday season.
In a statement, the law enforcement agency confirmed that Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. issued an order for police units across the country to conduct routine inspections in all areas traditionally known for selling firecrackers.
The directive emphasized that this heightened vigilance should extend beyond conventional hotspots, such as Bocaue in Bulacan.
The PNP is also expanding its enforcement to digital platforms, coordinating with relevant agencies to swiftly identify and apprehend individuals engaged in the unauthorized online sale of banned fireworks.
Police officials warned that immediate action would be taken against any vendor found violating existing safety regulations.
The PNP is urging the public to cooperate by reporting any illegal firecracker sellers to authorities.
