PNP seizes shabu worth over P20M in Camarines Sur bust, 3 arrested

Authorities seized over three kilograms of suspected shabu valued at an estimated P20.4 million and arrested three high-value drug suspects during a massive buy-bust operation in Daet, Camarines Norte, on Wednesday night.

The suspects, identified only by their aliases Dan and Mando, both residents of Bacoor, Cavite, and Iris, from Las Piñas City, have been classified as High-Value Individuals (HVIs) in the illegal drug trade, according to the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5).

PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr. confirmed the successful operation on Thursday, stating that the three kilograms of suspected shabu were recovered from the suspects. The drugs have an estimated standard drug price of P20.4 million.

“The operation demonstrates the unwavering commitment of PRO-5 to continue its efforts without pause,” Babagay said, adding that the police aim not only to arrest offenders but also to ensure safer communities for every Bicolano.

The joint operation was executed by the Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Daet Municipal Police Station, the Camarines Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The arrested suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
