Anti-narcotics operatives arrested two high-value drug suspects and seized over P3.2 million worth of suspected shabu in separate operations in Olongapo City over the weekend, the Police Regional Office-Central Luzon (PRO-3) reported.
In a statement, PRO-3 identified the suspects by their aliases, “Bash” and “Kevin.”
The larger haul took place early Saturday morning in Barangay West Bajac-bajac, where a joint team from the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Division, and local police conducted a buy-bust operation.
Authorities arrested “Bash” after he allegedly sold suspected illegal drugs to an undercover officer.
Recovered from the scene were six plastic packs containing approximately 400 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P2,720,000.
Police also recovered the marked money and “boodle” money used in the transaction.
In a follow-up operation on Friday in Barangay Sta. Rita, police apprehended “Kevin.” That operation yielded 78 grams of suspected shabu valued at P530,400.
The seized substances have been turned over to the forensic laboratory for examination.
Both suspects are currently in police custody and face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
PRO-3 officials stated that these arrests are part of a broader intensification of the regional anti-drug campaign aimed at dismantling local distribution networks.
