The Philippine National Police (PNP) carried out a weeklong campaign in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), recovering more than Php 35 million in illegal drugs and arresting four individuals. The operations ran from February 2 to 8, 2026, and aimed to dismantle local drug networks while protecting communities.

The Police Regional Office Cordillera conducted a total of 31 operations. These included 27 marijuana eradication drives and four buy-bust operations that targeted both high-value suspects and street-level dealers.

Authorities seized more than 143,000 fully grown marijuana plants, over 1,500 seedlings, 52,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and tops, 3,000 grams of dried stalks, and nearly 9 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride. The estimated market value of the confiscated drugs exceeded Php 35 million.

Benguet had the largest haul, with over Php 33 million in illegal drugs recovered and one high-value suspect taken into custody. In Kalinga, authorities seized nearly Php 1.9 million worth of narcotics and arrested two street-level individuals. Abra recorded about Php 15,000 in methamphetamine confiscated, along with one arrest.

The campaign reflects the PNP’s intelligence-driven and systematic approach to law enforcement. By combining eradication and buy-bust operations, police aimed to disrupt the flow of illegal drugs and weaken the networks behind them.

Officials said the operation demonstrates that both major operators and minor offenders are within the reach of law enforcement. Arrests were followed by filing of appropriate charges with local courts.

The weeklong drive is part of the Philippine National Police Focused Agenda, which prioritizes methodical operations and public safety while targeting the core of illegal drug distribution.

Police authorities noted that sustained campaigns like these are key to keeping communities safer and reinforcing public trust in law enforcement.
