The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said security preparations for the second Trillion Peso March were carried out in line with its mandate to safeguard the public during large-scale assemblies.
In a statement, PNP officer-in-charge Plt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the magnitude of the event required a security posture “designed to anticipate various scenarios” to help ensure a calm and orderly gathering.
He stressed that the PNP’s long-standing protocol prioritizes careful planning and close coordination with stakeholders to minimize potential risks on the ground.
“With the primary intention of supporting a safe environment for all participants, we prepared for the scale and anticipated turnout of the assemblies,” Nartatez said.
The police chief added that once participants dispersed, units immediately assisted in restoring normal operations in areas used for the day’s activities.
This included working with local government units, partner agencies, volunteers, and community stakeholders in post-event cleanup efforts.
He noted that the cooperation of these groups “greatly contributed to the prompt clearing and orderly return” of the affected public spaces.
With the November 30 activities concluded, the PNP said it has resumed regular law enforcement operations nationwide.
The police force reiterated its full support for peaceful assemblies and emphasized its commitment to upholding the rule of law, vowing continued coordination with communities and institutions through “consistent preparation, clear coordination, and professional service.”
