Philippine National Police Public Information Office (PIO) Chief Col. Randulf Tuaño is poised to receive his first star as he is promoted to the rank of brigadier general, a milestone in his law enforcement career.
A memorandum dated May 28 officially confirmed Col. Randulf Tuaño’s promotion, which comes just four months after he assumed leadership of the Philippine National Police’s Public Information Office.
Also included in the recent promotion list are several lieutenant colonels who are set to be elevated to the rank of colonel. These officers are:
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Vincente Oligario Amante
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bonaobra Bilaro
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Cheryl Paler Yatar
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Melmida Andrade
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Regina Narag Basco
* Police Lieutenant Colonel James Mejorada Dime
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Christel Marie Calumpit Nobleza
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Aguirre Cruto, Jr.
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Eric Reyes De Venancio
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Roger Ubongen Mangaoang
The ceremony for the official donning of ranks is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil welcomed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s announcement that a senior official has already been chosen to succeed him.
“We are so happy na talagang at least ‘yong mga tao, wala nang pangamba na talagang tuloy-tuloy ‘yong programa natin. Kung mas senior, eh di it will be better for the PNP para tuloy-tuloy ‘yong reporma natin, ‘yong internal cleansing natin, and sabi ko ‘yong pagbabago—‘yong magandang serbisyo sa PNP at sa mga tao natin,” Marbil said.
Marbil’s term has been extended previously and will end on June 7.
