The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported a massive haul for 2025, seizing approximately ₱30.1 billion worth of illegal drugs and smuggled items in a year-long nationwide enforcement campaign.
In a press briefing at Camp Crame on Monday, PNP Acting Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. disclosed that the police force confiscated ₱25.3 billion in illegal narcotics and ₱4.8 billion in various smuggled commodities throughout the past year.
The 2025 anti-drug campaign saw the PNP conduct 55,843 operations, resulting in the arrest of 67,223 suspects.
The volume of seized substances includes 3.28 million grams of shabu, 10.79 million grams of dried marijuana leaves alongside 3.37 million pieces of the plant, 150,586 grams of cocaine, 127,462 grams of kush, and 556 grams of ecstasy.
Simultaneously, the PNP intensified its drive against the illegal entry of goods. Out of 2,169 operations, authorities arrested 2,216 individuals and recovered ₱4.3 billion worth of smuggled cigarettes, ₱321 million in agricultural products, ₱167 million in counterfeit items, and ₱8 million in petroleum products.
Nartatez noted that more than half of these anti-smuggling successes occurred in the final four months of the year, following a strategic shift in enforcement.
Beyond contraband, the PNP reported the arrest of 84,567 wanted persons in 2025, including over 22,000 individuals listed as “Most Wanted.”
The National Capital Region Police Office led these efforts, accounting for over 15,000 of the total arrests.
The PNP chief emphasized that the heightened operational tempo contributed to a safer environment, citing a 12.4% decrease in focus crimes—such as murder, robbery, and theft—compared to the previous year.
Nartatez concluded that these figures demonstrate the force is targeting the right individuals and vowed to maintain this momentum into 2026.
