Five individuals wanted for various criminal offenses, including a Malaysian national accused of a drug-related violation, were taken into custody during separate police operations on October 28.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the arrests took place in Metro Manila, Cebu, Sultan Kudarat, Bukidnon, and Sarangani, with the suspects facing charges ranging from murder and frustrated murder to illegal drugs and destructive arson.

Several of the suspects were also identified as regional most wanted persons.

In Quezon City, the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group served an arrest warrant against a Malaysian national at its headquarters in Camp Crame for an alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The court set recommended bail at Php 40,000. The suspect remained in custody.

In Cebu, authorities served a murder-related arrest warrant against a 30-year-old man at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Male Dormitory in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, where he was already detained.

A separate operation in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat, resulted in the arrest of a 43-year-old man wanted for frustrated murder.

The operation involved personnel from local police units, the provincial mobile force, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, and the PNP Special Action Force.

In Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, police apprehended a suspect ranked No. 10 on the regional most wanted list for alleged violations of the country’s anti-drug law.

Authorities also arrested another regional No. 10 most wanted person in Malapatan, Sarangani, in connection with a destructive arson case.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the successful implementation of arrest warrants reflected the police force’s responsibility to support the justice system while ensuring that legal procedures were observed.

“Ang bawat warrant na naipatutupad ay bahagi ng ating tungkuling tiyaking gumagana ang proseso ng hustisya. We must do our job carefully, coordinate with the proper units, and respect the rights of every person involved. Our responsibility is to enforce the law fairly and professionally, wherever the operation takes us,” Nartatez said.

He directed police units to maintain close coordination with other law enforcement agencies in tracking wanted individuals and carrying out court orders.

The PNP assured that all five suspects would undergo the appropriate legal proceedings, with their rights protected throughout the judicial process.

Police said the arrests were part of continuing efforts under the PNP Focused Agenda to strengthen operational coordination, enforce outstanding warrants, and maintain peace and order nationwide.
