PNP anti-narcotic group seizes P25.6-M in illegal drugs, arrests 68 in February

The Philippine National Police – Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) reported significant progress in its fight against illegal drugs in February, seizing narcotics worth over P25.6 million and apprehending dozens of drug offenders.

In total, the PNP-DEG conducted 58 intelligence-driven operations during the month, resulting in the arrest of 68 drug personalities. Among those detained were 34 high-value targets, 19 street-level dealers, six of the most wanted individuals, and nine others with outstanding warrants.

The operations, which included 37 buy-bust operations, four search warrant operations, two marijuana eradication missions, and 25 arrests through warrants, culminated in the seizure of over 2.68 kilograms of shabu, 2,000 grams of dried marijuana, 30 milliliters of marijuana oil, and 95 pieces of ecstasy. Additionally, a large-scale marijuana plantation was destroyed, totaling 35,002 plants.

PNP-DEG’s acting chief, Colonel Rolando B. Cuya Jr., lauded the efforts of his team, emphasizing that these operations have significantly disrupted the illegal drug trade. “The unwavering dedication and expertise of our group have led to outstanding achievements in combating the menace of illegal drugs within our communities,” he said.

The ongoing success of the PNP-DEG’s operations highlights their dedication to creating a drug-free environment, with the group’s leadership vowing to maintain their focus on dismantling drug syndicates and protecting public safety.

“The relentless dedication and professionalism exhibited by our group have significantly contributed to impeding the proliferation of illegal drugs and ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens,” Cuya said.
