The Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe is scheduled to visit various cathedrals and parishes across the Philippines from June to December 2026, the Association of Catholic Shrines and Pilgrimages of the Philippines (ACSP) announced Tuesday.
The six-month tour serves as a central component of the “Novena Intercontinental Guadalupana,” a global nine-year devotional program leading up to the 500th anniversary of the Apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico.
According to the ACSP, the visit aims to strengthen the national celebration of the feast day held every December 12.
The initiative follows a partnership between the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines and the Mexican Bishops’ Conference to elevate the occasion into a major national event.
While the full itinerary is expected to be released in the coming weeks, the organizers have already outlined a series of long-term projects accompanying the tour.
These initiatives include the production of Filipino-language catechetical materials and the hosting of several national congresses, with the first scheduled for 2027 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Makati City.
Subsequent congresses are planned for 2029, 2031, and 2033 at various shrines across the country.
The program also features an international dimension, with an official Filipino pilgrimage to Mexico set for November 2026 and a 2028 visit to the Shrine of Guadalupe de Extremadura in Spain.
Furthermore, a comprehensive book documenting the history of Guadalupan devotion in the Philippines from 1687 to the present is slated for completion by 2031.
These efforts are part of a broader “Guadalupan Triangle” strategy designed to connect sacred sites in Mexico, Spain, and the Philippines.
