The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) kicked off the National Philatelic Exhibition 2025 (NAPEX) as part of its month-long celebration marking its corporate anniversary.
The three-day exhibition began Wednesday at the Level 1 Atrium of Lucky Chinatown Mall in Binondo, Manila, featuring stamp collections from 17 passionate collectors. The event celebrates the art and history of philately—highlighting how postage stamps can tell powerful stories, connect cultures, and preserve historical milestones.
Among the exhibition’s highlights is a commemorative stamp set honoring Filipino medalists from the 2024 Paris Olympics. The stamps feature athletes Carlos Edriel Yulo, Nesthy Alcayde Petecio, and Aira Villegas, commemorating their gold and bronze medal wins in gymnastics and boxing.
“Each stamp immortalizes the triumphant moments of gold and bronze medal victories in gymnastics and boxing and pays tribute to the strength, discipline, and perseverance that define the Filipino athlete,” said PHLPost Postmaster General Luis Carlos.
In a tribute to the country’s vibrant cultural heritage, PHLPost also unveiled a special stamp series and souvenir sheets showcasing major Philippine festivals. Featured festivals include Davao City’s Kadayawan, Baguio City’s Panagbenga, Bulacan’s Singkaban, and Cebu City’s Sinulog—each one celebrating Filipino life, faith, tradition, and community spirit.
This month also marks PHLPost’s 33rd year as a government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC), a milestone established by Republic Act 7354, also known as the Philippine Postal Service Act of 1992, which transitioned the Postal Service Office into the present-day corporation.
NAPEX 2025 was organized in collaboration with the Philippine Philatelic Federation, Inc., bringing together stamp clubs from across the nation in a celebration of the enduring legacy of postage stamps.
