The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Sunday said Mayon Volcano remains under Alert Level 1, indicating low-level unrest.

In its 24-hour monitoring report dated December 14, 2025, Phivolcs recorded one volcanic earthquake and eight rockfall events.

The agency also observed a faint crater glow that was visible only through telescopes.

Sulfur dioxide emission was measured at an average of 307 tons per day on December 10, 2025, according to Phivolcs.

Moderate plume emission was observed drifting toward the west-northwest and west-southwest directions.

Ground deformation data showed that the volcano remains inflated, indicating continued internal activity.

The agency reiterated that entry into the six-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone is strictly prohibited.

They also warned against flying any aircraft close to the summit of the volcano.

Residents were cautioned about possible sudden steam-driven or phreatic explosions, rockfalls, and lahar flows during heavy rainfall.

Mayon Volcano is located in Albay province and remains under close monitoring by Phivolcs.
