Philippines posts highest product exports in 35 years

MANILA – The Philippines recorded its highest merchandise exports in 35 years in August 2026, with outbound shipments reaching USD9.11 billion, according to government data.

The figure was 27.8 percent higher than the value of exports recorded in the same month last year, marking a significant increase in the country’s external trade performance.

The milestone reflects stronger overseas demand for Philippine-made and locally produced goods, providing a boost to the country’s trade sector and broader economy.

The government said the latest export performance highlights the Philippines’ growing participation in global markets as it continues efforts to expand trade and strengthen the competitiveness of local industries.
