The Philippines’ booth at ITB Berlin 2026 drew strong engagement from international buyers and trade visitors, serving as a dynamic hub for business meetings and destination showcases at the world’s largest travel trade fair.
The Philippines made a strong impression at ITB Berlin 2026, generating more than P925 million in preliminary sales leads as it showcased the country’s diverse destinations, rich cultural heritage, and growing portfolio of tourism experiences to the global market.
Through the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the country wrapped up a productive participation at the three-day business-to-business trade event held from March 3 to 5, 2026 at Berlin ExpoCenter City in Germany.
Widely recognized as the world’s largest travel trade fair and one of Europe’s most important tourism marketplaces, ITB Berlin brings together about 100,000 trade visitors and more than 5,800 exhibitors from around the world each year. For the Philippines, the event continues to serve as a vital platform for strengthening its presence in key international markets and deepening ties with global travel partners.
This year’s performance also highlighted the country’s steady growth in the European travel market. The Philippines generated P276.7 million in sales leads in 2023, followed by P448.9 million in 2024 and P590.5 million in 2025. The jump to over P925 million in 2026 signals rising global interest in Philippine tourism products and a stronger trade footprint in Europe.
The Philippine delegation, composed of accommodation providers, destination management companies, tour operators, tourism organizations, and local government units, engaged in a series of business meetings and promotional showcases designed for the European market. These discussions focused on key travel segments such as Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE), leisure, wellness, corporate travel, diving, and gastronomy.
“The breadth of engagement across leisure and corporate segments demonstrates the growing appeal of our destinations,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles. “While global uncertainties may influence the pace and scale of conversions, the continued interest in Philippine tourism products and services underscores the importance of staying engaged with our partners, strengthening our position as a venue for business events and international gatherings, deepening market understanding, and working closely with stakeholders to sustain momentum and identify opportunities as conditions evolve.”
Beyond business meetings, the Philippines also drew attention for its vibrant cultural and culinary presentation. The country’s 289-square-meter booth became a high-traffic hub for buyers and trade visitors, featuring destination displays and a Philippine coffee showcase by Kaulayaw Coffee.
Adding flavor and storytelling to the country’s presentation were live culinary demonstrations by Chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou, who prepared dishes representing Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The showcase highlighted the regional richness of Filipino cuisine and reinforced the Philippines’ appeal as a destination for immersive, culture-driven travel.
By combining tourism opportunities with authentic cultural experiences, the Philippines strengthened its pitch not only as a leisure destination, but also as a competitive and trade-ready venue for international events and MICE activities.
The outcome of ITB Berlin 2026 underscores the country’s growing stature in the global travel trade. With stronger partnerships, qualified business leads, and increasing international interest, the Philippines continues to position itself as an attractive and dynamic destination in the world tourism market.
