
NAGOYA, Japan – The Philippine tennis team concluded its campaign at the 20th Asian Games with Alex Eala leading the squad’s medal haul after securing bronze in the women’s singles event.
Eala’s podium finish highlighted the country’s campaign, while Tennielle Madis, Stefi Aludo, Shaira Rivera and Francis Casey “Niño” Alcantara also represented the Philippines in their respective matches.
The national team was supported throughout the competition by coaches Denise Dy, Sandro Viaene and Bobie Angelo, along with physiotherapists Khris Callao and Haree Rañeses.
PHILTA Secretary General John Rey Tiangco and board member Dyan Castillejo were also part of the delegation.
The Philippine tennis contingent wrapped up its Asian Games stint after a series of matches in Nagoya, with Eala’s bronze standing as the team’s top result in the competition.
