The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), working closely with the Philippine National Police (PNP), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and regional units, has ramped up its anti-drug operations across the country, leading to a major breakthrough in just seven days. From June 27 to July 4, a total of 48 coordinated, intelligence-led operations resulted in the arrest of 55 individuals and the seizure of illegal drugs valued at a staggering ₱31.23 million.
These efforts are carried out in strict alignment with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive: to pursue justice with compassion, ensuring that each operation is anchored in human rights and the rule of law.
Among the highlights of the week-long campaign:
- In the Cordillera region, operatives uprooted and destroyed 7,400 marijuana plants and 4,000 seedlings in Benguet and Kalinga, wiping out nearly ₱18.6 million worth of contraband.
- In Davao City, agents confiscated over a kilo of marijuana stalks and dried leaves.
- In Cordova, Cebu, Region 7 enforcers recovered 250 grams of shabu in one of the largest single busts of the week.
- In Surigao del Sur, Caraga region, back-to-back raids yielded 105 grams of shabu.
The bulk of operations included 36 buy-busts, four marijuana eradications, six search warrant executions, and two interdiction efforts.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez emphasized the agency’s unwavering commitment to humane enforcement. “Each operation we conduct honors the President’s call for a just and compassionate campaign. We focus on dismantling drug syndicates, but we also urge families with loved ones struggling with addiction to seek help. Rehabilitation saves lives. Together, we protect our communities and especially our children from this threat.”
PDEA continues to encourage public participation. Citizens can report suspected drug activity through the agency’s Facebook page “Isumbong Mo Sa PDEA” or via hotlines 0995-354-7020 and 0931-027-8212.
In addition, the agency calls on the public to support drug rehabilitation initiatives and work together to build drug-free communities through vigilance, care, and collaboration.
