The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated ₱1.08 billion worth of illegal drugs during intensified operations from May 23 to 30.
According to a PDEA news release, the agency conducted 63 anti-drug operations, including 44 buy-busts, seven marijuana eradication missions, seven search and seizure raids, and five interdiction efforts. These led to the arrest of 91 individuals.
The weeklong operations were carried out under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive for a sustained crackdown on the drug trade.
Seized were 156,407.80 grams of shabu, 80.94 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 5,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks, and 61,662 marijuana plants.
One of the biggest hauls occurred on May 26, when PDEA agents discovered ₱1 billion worth of shabu during a raid in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, Pampanga.
“These accomplishments reflect our dedication to integrity, service, and public safety. We will remain vigilant and relentless in our mission to free our communities from the threat of illegal drugs,” PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani Nerez said.
