Residents of Barangay Sta. Cruz in Magalang received a welcome boost in health and humanitarian support as the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) rolled out a comprehensive assistance drive on January 26, 2026.
Leading the initiative was PCSO Director Jennifer Liongson-Guevara, who personally oversaw the distribution of vital aid packages and medical equipment aimed at improving community health and daily living conditions.
A total of 500 “ChariTimba” food packs were handed out to families, alongside 40 wheelchairs, 30 blood pressure apparatuses, and 30 nebulizers. The assistance package was designed to address both immediate needs and long-term health concerns, particularly among vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens and persons with disabilities
Local officials underscored the importance of the outreach. Councilor Niko Gonzales expressed deep appreciation for the support extended to his constituents, emphasizing how the medical equipment and food assistance provide tangible relief, especially for elderly residents who require ongoing care and monitoring.
Beyond the numbers, the activity reflected PCSO’s broader commitment to inclusive public service. The agency continues to ensure that women, men, youth, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities receive equitable access to government assistance—delivered with dignity and respect.
