Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro urged mainstream media organizations to provide complete and accurate context when featuring statements from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in social media quote cards to prevent misinterpretation and the spread of misinformation.

Castro noted that many Filipinos rely on information presented in social media graphics without reading the full news articles.

She warned that highlighting only selected portions of the President’s statements could mislead the public and create confusion about the intended message.

While acknowledging that media organizations often use larger fonts to emphasize key points, Castro stressed that essential details should not be omitted.

She encouraged news outlets to ensure that quote cards accurately reflect the full context of presidential remarks, particularly on important government issues.

The PCO official also emphasized the media’s responsibility to deliver accurate, balanced, and clear information to the public.

Castro underscored the importance of cooperation between the government and media organizations in promoting factual reporting, preventing misinformation, and ensuring that Filipinos receive reliable information.
